This 1BHK home was designed for a family of five, including a one-year-old child. The brief was simple yet challenging: maximize every inch of space while keeping the interiors vibrant and full of character.
The living room sets the tone with its play of textures, patterns, and thoughtful storage. White walls provide a clean backdrop, while a bold blue highlight wall adds vibrancy. Diagonally opposite, the customized Indian seating and a diwan-style sofa with storage are finished in moulded shutters painted in the same shade of blue, tying the room together visually. The TV wall carries subtle groove patterns to add depth while maintaining a light palette. A handcrafted jhula, which can also function as a low seater, becomes the central element of the space. Fabrics introduce hints of blue and Indian-inspired motifs, while mirror jali work and a circular mirror panel with wall lamps bring in reflectivity and charm, adding brightness and a sense of openness.
The bedroom was designed to comfortably accommodate the couple and their infant. A platform bed sits near the window, leaving room for a dressing unit and study desk. The wall here is detailed with a checkered pattern, creating a backdrop that ties both functions together. The dressing unit is anchored by an elegant oval-shaped mirror, while the study area is complemented with a pinewood shelf designed to display memories in the form of photographs or collectibles. A full-length wardrobe along the opposite wall ensures ample storage for the family of five. The palette of light pink walls and pinewood finishes adds softness and warmth, balancing functionality with comfort.
Every element in this compact home has been designed with intent, ensuring that functionality and warmth go hand in hand. Despite its size, the home feels spacious, vibrant, and deeply personal to the family who lives here.
