prashama: meaning tranquility, calm & peace

Rooted in spirituality and inspired by Indian philosophies, Prashama is a 3BHK home designed for a family of three who cherish a mindful, serene way of living. The very name Prashama translates to tranquility and calm, values that became the guiding principle for every design decision. The home was envisioned not just as a place to live, but as a sanctuary that slows you down, eases the senses, and creates space for reflection.

The journey begins at the entrance, where a warm teakwood finish sets a welcoming tone. Step inside and the living room opens up in a palette of whites and off-whites, grounded with wooden accents. The furniture in fluted laminates introduces texture without overwhelming the eye, while accents of color such as a vibrant painting or fabric upholstery bring in personality. A cozy Indian-style seating corner, paired with a bookshelf and outdoor views, becomes a quiet nook for reading or contemplation. The west-facing orientation allows golden evening light to filter in, creating a play of warmth that later transitions into the soft glow of diffused ceiling lighting, extending the mood of calm into the night.

From here, the home unfolds into private spaces, each designed with its own character while echoing the larger theme of serenity. The master bedroom leans towards muted luxury with a monochromatic layering of taupe across furniture, walls, and fabrics. A wallpaper with subtle patterns whispers elegance, while rose-gold pendant lamps add gentle highlights, mirroring the quiet sophistication of the family’s lifestyle.

In contrast, the second bedroom embraces an earthy tone. Sage green anchors the space, balanced with warm wood finishes and flooring. The headboard wallpaper, textured like rammed earth, adds a sense of grounding, while sleek black accents punctuate the calm and give the room a contemporary edge without disrupting its natural stillness.

The mandir room forms the soul of the home. Anchored by an all-white altar with golden accents against a backdrop of ochre wallpaper with faint golden motifs, it radiates purity and peace. Designed not only as a space for devotion but also with a study nook alongside, it harmoniously blends spirituality with function, an embodiment of the family’s lifestyle.

Prashama is more than an apartment; it is a narrative of calmness. Every space, every texture, and every ray of light has been composed to guide its inhabitants away from the noise of the outside world into a state of inner balance. Walking through its rooms feels like moving through layers of stillness, a home that does not just house life but elevates it with quiet grace.
